Measuring Light

I have a particular passion for vintage cameras and many of them have no light meter at all or, when present, it does not behave well for various reasons (batteries, bad adjustment etc.).

As exposure is essential for good looking pictures, I decided many years ago to invest in what was considered the best exposure meter available on the market.

Super Ikonta & Sekonik meter

I went for a Sekonik L408 meter that supports spot metering and incident light measurement (beside other nice functions).

I never regretted this purchase and the meter is still in active use after more than 20 years.

The advent of digital has brought many features making people life easier when taking pictures.

Today's camera let the user forget what exposure really is and how to jungle with it.

Measuring the scene light and making the proper decision is still, IMHO, a nice and pleasant experience.
