My way of rating cameras

I have developed a rudimentary system to rate cameras in terms of their functionality. The system is quite simple and works by assigning points to the various camera capabilities.

It is still in work in progress and gets enriched each time I analyze one of my cameras.

none = 0 points

points = position in the list starting from 1 e.g TTL=1

Viewing - basic, intermediate (RF), full (SLR)

Focusing - basic (fixed), intermediate (zone), advanced(wysiwyg SLR,RF), automatic(auto-focus)

Light metering - none,TTL,spot

Diaphragm control - none,limited,full

Shutter control - none,limited,full

Film advance mechanism - manual,intermediate,full

Lens - simple,intermediate,full

Auto exposure - none, intermediate, full

Flash - none,basic,medium,full

Example ratings

Holga camera:     1+2+0+1+1+1+0+1+1 = 8

Leica M6:             2+3+2+3+3+3+3+2+3 = 24
